CRM for Towing Companies
Every dispatch call recorded, every tow logged with its pickup spot, vehicle and driver, and every impounded car tied to the paperwork that releases it.
Free forever for up to 3 users. Paid plans from $199 a month.
What goes wrong, and what we do about it
Towing is a business of single phone calls: whoever answers first gets the job, and a stranded driver will not leave a voicemail. The dispatcher juggles a breakdown on the shoulder, a lockout at a mall and a police request at once, writing plates on whatever is at hand. Then come the quieter losses — an impounded car released without the storage days billed, a motor club invoice nobody sent.
The problem
A stranded driver calls at night, hits voicemail and dials the next tow company.
In Kompot.ai
On the Full Service plan a voice agent answers at any hour, asks where the car is, what it is and what happened, and transfers the call to the on-call dispatcher. The recording, the transcript and a summary land on a new contact.
The problem
The pickup location is scribbled on paper, and the tow operator calls back to ask where the car is.
In Kompot.ai
Each tow is a job with the pickup address, the drop-off, a time window and the assigned driver. The driver opens it in the phone's browser and reads the vehicle, the plate and the dispatcher's note about the exit or the mile marker.
The problem
An impounded vehicle leaves the lot, and nobody billed the storage days or kept the release.
In Kompot.ai
Keep the impound as a job with its own stages: towed in, held, released. Storage days go on the invoice as a line from your price list, and the owner signs the release form electronically from a QR code at the gate.
The problem
Motor clubs and body shops send steady work but get invoiced weeks late, from memory.
In Kompot.ai
Each account is a contact with all its tows listed under it. Create the invoice from the finished tow the same shift and send a payment link; the overdue flag shows which accounts are slow to pay.
The problem
An owner complains about a scraped bumper, and the hook-up photos are only in the driver's phone.
In Kompot.ai
The driver attaches photos to the job before loading and after drop-off. When the complaint arrives, the office opens the job and sees the car's condition at pickup, the time and who was behind the wheel of the truck.
How one order runs
From a breakdown call to a paid tow
The call is answered
A dispatcher or the voice agent takes the location, the vehicle and the problem. The call is recorded and the caller becomes a contact.
The tow is dispatched
Create a job with the pickup and drop-off addresses, the tow type — flatbed, wheel-lift, winch-out — and the driver. It shows on the board for the shift.
Hook-up and delivery
The driver photographs the car before loading, adds notes, and from the phone moves the job through its stages: en route, on scene, loaded, delivered.
Invoice or impound
A delivered tow gets an invoice with a payment link, sent to the motorist or to the account. A car taken to your lot stays open as an impound job until it is released.
What you keep on record
- Towed vehicles
- Make, model, color, plate and VIN noted on the tow job, with photos taken before loading and at drop-off.
- Impound and releases
- The date towed in, who ordered the tow and the signed release form, kept on the impound job with its documents.
- Commercial accounts
- Motor clubs, body shops, dealerships and property managers as contacts, each with its own tows and invoices.
- Tow rates
- Hook-up fee, per-mile rate, winching, after-hours calls and storage per day in the price list.

Where an AI employee steps in for Towing Companies
The moment
A driver calls from the highway shoulder in the middle of the night.
The voice agent answers, asks for the direction of travel, the nearest exit, the vehicle and whether it rolls, then transfers the call to the on-call dispatcher. The transcript and summary are on the contact when the dispatcher creates the tow.
The moment
An owner writes on WhatsApp asking where their towed car is and what they need to get it back.
The AI employee looks up the tow by the owner's contact, gives the lot's address and hours and lists the documents to bring, using your knowledge base. If the car is not on record, it hands the conversation to the office.
The moment
A property manager messages to request removal of a car parked in a fire lane.
The AI employee collects the address, the plate and the make, creates a task for dispatch with those details and tells the manager a dispatcher will confirm. The request stays in that account's conversation history.
Questions owners ask
- Can drivers see the tow details in the truck?
- Yes. A driver opens the job in the phone's browser: pickup and drop-off addresses, the vehicle, the plate and the dispatcher's notes. They add photos and move the tow to the next stage, and dispatch sees the change on the board.
- Will it answer calls when the dispatcher is on another line?
- A voice agent can, on the Full Service plan. It follows your instructions, collects the location and the vehicle, and can transfer the call to a person. Every call is recorded and transcribed, and a workflow can notify the dispatcher or create a task.
- How do I handle impounded vehicles and storage fees?
- Keep each impound as a job that stays open until release. Add the storage days to the invoice from your price list, take payment by link or record it by hand, and have the owner sign the release form electronically; the PDF stays with the job.
- Can I bill motor clubs and repeat accounts separately from cash calls?
- Yes. Each account is its own contact, and its tows and invoices sit under it. Send invoices with a payment link as the tows close, and use the overdue flag to see which accounts still owe you for last month's calls.
