CRM for Electrical Contractors

Service calls and long installs side by side — with the permit, the inspection date and every change order attached to the job they belong to.

What goes wrong, and what we do about it

An electrical shop runs two businesses at once. Service calls — a dead circuit, a tripping breaker — are booked and finished in a day. Panel upgrades, rewires and new construction stretch over weeks and stop at every gate: permit issued, rough-in inspected, final signed off. Work gets lost in the gaps, when a permit sits unsubmitted or an inspection passes and nobody tells the crew to come back for trim-out.

  • The problem

A permit application sits on someone's desk and the panel upgrade cannot start.

    In Kompot.ai

Give your jobs stages such as permit applied, permit issued, rough-in, inspection and final. The job board shows every install that is waiting on the permit office, and a task with a due date makes one person answerable for chasing it.

  • The problem

The rough-in inspection passes and the crew finds out days later.

    In Kompot.ai

Put the inspection on the shared calendar and record the result on the job. A workflow triggered by the stage change notifies the foreman and creates the task to schedule trim-out, so the drywallers are not left waiting on you.

  • The problem

The homeowner adds recessed lights mid-job and the extra work is never billed.

    In Kompot.ai

Write the addition as a change order from a document template, send it for e-signature by link and keep the signed copy on the job. The added devices go onto an estimate and then the invoice, with the audit trail behind them.

  • The problem

A general contractor asks where the wiring stands and you have to call the foreman.

    In Kompot.ai

Group the jobs, tasks and invoices of one build into a project and share it by link. The contractor sees which tasks are finished and leaves comments there, without phoning your office to ask whether rough-in is complete.

  • The problem

The deposit, the rough-in draw and the final payment are tracked in a notebook.

    In Kompot.ai

Invoice each draw separately — deposit, rough-in, final — each with its own payment link for card payment. A draw that comes by check or transfer is recorded by your office, every invoice shows what is paid and what is still open, and one left past its due date is flagged as overdue.

How one order runs

From a panel upgrade request to the final payment

  1. The request is scoped

The call or message lands on the customer's record. You note the existing service size, the panel brand and what the customer wants to add, and open an opportunity.

  2. Estimate and contract

The estimate lists the panel, the breakers, the labor and the permit fee from your price list. After approval the contract goes out for e-signature and the deposit is invoiced.

  3. Permit, rough-in, inspection

The job moves through your stages as the permit is issued and the inspector signs off. The permit and photos of the wiring before it is covered are kept on the job as files.

  4. Final sign-off and payment

After the final inspection the remaining balance is invoiced with a payment link, and the passed inspection and the signed documents stay on the customer's record.

Where an AI employee steps in for Electrical Contractors

  • The moment

A caller reports a burning smell from an outlet after the office has closed.

The voice agent picks up, finds out whether the breaker has tripped and whether anything is hot or sparking, notes the address and puts the caller through to the electrician on call. A summary and the transcript are saved on the caller's record.

  • The moment

Someone writes in the website chat wanting an EV charger installed in their garage.

The AI employee asks how far the parking spot is from the panel, whether the panel has free spaces and which charger they bought. The answers go onto a new contact, and an opportunity is opened for your estimator to price.

  • The moment

A customer messages to ask whether their final inspection has been scheduled.

The AI employee looks up the job, reads its stage and the inspection date you entered, and replies. If no date has been entered, it leaves the office a task to chase the inspector and tells the customer the day will be confirmed.

How digital employees work

Questions owners ask

Can I track permits and inspections for each job?
Yes. Define job stages for the permit and inspection steps, keep the permit number and dates as fields, attach the paperwork as files and put inspections on the calendar. Kompot.ai does not file permits with the authority for you; it shows where each one stands.
How do change orders work?
Make a change order template with merge fields for the customer, the job and the added work. Send it by email, link or QR code; the customer signs it, and the signed PDF with its audit trail stays on the record.
Does it suit both service calls and multi-week installs?
Yes. A service call needs nothing more than a job and its invoice. A rewire or a new build is a project that groups several jobs, the tasks, the contract and the invoices, and you can share it with the owner or the general contractor by link.
Can electricians read the job details on site?
They open Kompot.ai in the browser on their phone. The job shows the address, the time window, the panel notes and the attached plans, and they can add photos of the finished work and move the job to its next stage.
